Internships and Volunteering

Our internship program is one of whole life immersion. It is a dive into the pure heart of a living system of co-creation, fun and education. It is not a stand-back-and-observe scenario but an invitation to step up to the stage of Life’s potential and seize the reigns of creation. Our creed is Supreme Regard one for another. Supreme regard for Earth and all of Life. Then we apply intelligent, inventive mind to the processes that need our care and we give it our ambition, sweat and passion.  We work hard. And we laugh and sing together.

David and Susannah offer a broad range of talent and experience, bringing in the wisdom gleaned of their life’s adventures. They demonstrate an unwavering devotion to Guidance and a commitment to following the course of refined, conscious living.

Accommodations at Garden Village are primarily under a large open building called the Leaf House. The Butterfly Room and the Fish Bed Room and the Tent Room provide screened in beds and tent space. There is a fully equipped kitchen with electricity and running water, and an open air dining area. The outhouse facility is proudly called Casa de Abono and is kept pleasant by use of dry organic matter and is frequently moved to new sites. Each site is eventually used to plant a tree, thus the name Fertilizer House.

A donation of $70 per week is suggested for students or participants committing to three weeks or more at Garden Village. (We suggest six weeks for a comprehensive experience.) $70 per week covers the cost of food and other basic expenses such as washing and cooking. They can expect to participate in some or all of the named activities, which generally include four to five hours per day of work.

For those students or participants staying only a few days, we suggest $12 per day.

Other ways to participate

There are other ways you can participate in this project. Remote contribution of your skills such as networking, blog writing and editing, are viable options. Reading Garden Village blogs and leaving responses is a good one. Contact us for more ways you can participate long distance.

Everyone at Garden Village is a volunteer. Your financial or in-kind donations can add a lot to both the potency and the quality of the Garden Village educational program. If you or a friend is planning to visit Costa Rica, consider bringing one or more of the items on our wish list on our Donations Page.

All donations are tax deductible.
